PARISH ACTIVITIES

The Parish of West Thunder Bay is fairly small...but we have a big heart! We believe in living our faith within our families, our church and our communities. Visit our Facebook page for regular updates.

Outreach

Our community outreach projects include regular assistance to the Rural Cupboard Food Bank, making a spaghetti meal at Shelter House the first Wednesday of the month, volunteering at Grace Place the third Monday of the month and providing support to the Mission to Seafarers throughout the year.

Youth & Children

Programs and activities for children and youth include Sunday School, Kids Klub, Camp Gitchigomee, the Youth Synod at Camp Manitou1st Thunder Bay BPSA (Scouts), the Anglican-Lutheran Drop In, Deanery Youth Encounter and a Summer Bible Camp.

Christian Education

We have a Men's Breakfast eight times a year on the third Saturday of the month beginning at 8:30, featuring a hot breakfast and a guest speaker. There is a free will offering and funds are distributed to various missions. "Women at the Well" is a Bible study group that meets every other Friday from 9:15 to 10:30 am. The starting point for each meeting comes from the gospel, a selected book and/or readings for the following Sunday. The aim is to make our lives examples of intentional living and to connect our lives to our Christian stories. Finally, there is a weekly Bible Study group that meets on Wednesday evenings.

Community Building

There is a Spaghetti Supper held every spring and fall and a Pancake Supper held on Shrove Tuesday. In 2015 we held our first Annual Family Fun Curling Bonspiel and Buffet Dinner. "The Rock of Ages" trophy is awarded to the winning team at this popular event.
